rio 600

i just plugged in my protein skimmer powered by a rio 600, modified for protein skimming. it worked for about 5 minutes, and then it just quit. i was just checking to make sure it worked. the power head was completely under water and the air hose was above.

i know, this one worked great for 5 mins and then just quit. does anyone have any ideas? If it didnt come with the skimmer i wouldn't have used it. while it worked it made awesome small bubbles, and great foam on the top.
i wonder if it got something stuck in the impellar or if something is jamming it.
im pretty p-oed

fixed it! the impellar wasnt spinning on the driveshaft. it just sat there and spun. while i was doing that i got out my rio 400 and got it to quit rattling the same way. i would not recommend these cheap pieces of you know what to anyone. they are loud and very high maintenance

I had a rio 600 that came with my cpr aquafuge Refugium....it died a few weeks into using it... I now use a aquaclear 402 and everything is fine.
