Rio Pumps - Revisited Again

I did a search on here the other day on
Rio Pumps - in all forums.
I came up with over 100 posts since April 26th, 2000 - which coincidentally was just about the time I registered here.
Most of these posts were obviously negative regarding these pumps.
I've been running a Rio2100 for over two years without a problem. Not really one single issue I can report on concerning a failure.
But .............
Today it's official.
I am no longer using any Rio pumps in my tanks.
I went to lfs this morning and got a MagDrive 5
Call me thick headed
Call me foolish
Call me lucky
But whatever you call me .. don't call me one that does not appreciate and listen to what you all have to say. I figure I was one of the fortunate ones - but any day now my luck may just run out.
The Rio2100 is in the trashcan.
I didn't even save the power cord - and I always save the power cords.
Now if care to - you may call me superstitious.
Anyways - that's all - sort of a "I got past the lingering Rio pump meltdown threat" and just thought it was worth mentioning.
Worth it to me at least.
Thanks all !

Good call, getting rid of my last rio will hopefully be soon. I had one spark and arc underwater, luckily nothin died. including myself. Perhaps the best thing of all about that rio was I got to trade its purchase value in for a maxijet 1200.
