I allready asked this question any way.
My freind has a 300 g tank he has a Bannded cat shark.He has shells as the subtrate. Will the shark die or something else becuase.Please post what will happen to it .Could he keep it still.

I would highly recommend your friend take out the shells and put in aragonite sand ASAP. The shells will cut its belly and give it an infection which could kill it.

I've had 6 sharks on crushed coral in my life time. They did fine with the exception of a horn shark eating one of them. It is not recommended to have any sharks on crushed coral... but realistically its not going to kill it. Sharks obviously don't have the luxury of live sand or sugar sand etc in real life everywhere they go. So what it comes down to is it will be fine but for aquarium life it's just overall recommended to not do it.
