I have looked at the posts about they units, and am very uneasy about what to get. I understand we cannot talk about websites etc. But what excactly should I be looking for? I see some posts say the units for $100 or so that are 100 gpd are not good. What would be good for my 55 gallon tank without killing my piggy bank?

I got a setup on that famous auction site for around $200. It is rated for 250gpd and it has served me well. Be sure to get one with a storage tank so you can get several gallons quickly.

An important question to ask with these bigger producing units is what is the rejection rate on their membranes and what type of membranes they are using in their units...Usually with the bigger GPD units they have lower rejection rates compared to the 75gpd and smaller....
