Hi Guys,
Thinking about investing in one of these babies.
I know next to nothing about plumbing so I want the most simple setup possible with as little plumbing as possible! I have a spare tap out in the garden that would be ideal...the question is will the RO/DI be ok in cold temperatures?
Cheers guys,
Tim.

Hey Kip we hooked ours up in the laundry room yesterday and that little puppy is working like a charm. I have less waste because all the house water is filtered all ready. I got a big trash can on wheels so I can add salt to the water. First change tomorrow. I love having it in the laundry room

I have one of those three stage Rain Soft things.... It sits outside by the air conditioners.
Although today I took over the guest bath so I could plug the powerhead in.

Hi Kip,
Cheers for the reply.
Yes just thought about the inline with the laundry room to the washing machine etc and that seems the best sollution. However, when you say the water source has to be above 50f, what do you mean? We cant really control the temperature of the water that comes out!
Also, if I keep it indoors somewhere, how do you tell it to stop filling up the big bucket (or whatever) so it doesnt overflow? Because if it is indoors I wont have a drain! (just remember our houses in UK are far more compact that yours in the US with a million rooms!)
Cheers Kip,
Tim.

The temperature is supposed to effect the GPD. We run the waste down the drain with the waste water from the washing machine.

kipass and dockery.....I have been under the understanding that the ro/di water should be between 60 and 70 degrees. You both have yours hooked into you cold water for your washer right? I wanted to do this but have always thought the water from the cold would be just too cold to have the maximum output. If that isn't the case then I will also hook mine up that way instead of tieing up the cink for the entire day.

It could be depending on where you live. Our's is a Kent, and it specifically said in the instructions to put it on the cold only. It even pointed out not to mix the cold and hot to increase the water temperature.
As I understand it, the only difference is the GPD for the colder temperature (again per the instructions).
Can anyone confirm that?
