If you are reasonably "handy", then you should be able to perform the installation. The differentiating factor will be the permanence of installaiton that you desire. Most systems come with the pieces needed to connect to a faucet and place the waste water line in a sink drain. This works, but if you want something that is mor permanent and convenient, you may have to do some real plumbing. Depending upon the construction of your home, this may require that you work with copper and/or PVC plumbing components. Again, it's not too difficult. As mentioned, the instructions are usually pretty good and they will help you determine how much plumbing work will be required and whether or not you want to tackle it. Good Luck!
