RO/DI Question

I Just Got a Dual Home Reef with tank 50pgd from air water and ice and so far have been having tons of trouble with it. First it came in broken then they sent me out another one that came in broken. Then they finally got me on that works and I'm getting terrible ppm out of it. Am I doing something wrong? Eveything looks like its set up right. I have purged the thing for hours and i'm still getting a steady stream of water coing out of the pure out with a ppm 115

. Please help, maybe someone out there has the same one I do and knows what i'm doing wrong

What is the water like going in? What is the waste water like? Are you measuring the pure water line? You probably should not be getting a steady stream from a 50 gpd unit unless it's coming out of the waste water line.

Yea, my friend said the same thing. the water going in is 115ppm, water coming out of pure water out is 115ppm and the water coming out of waste is 130ppm. I wish it was as simple as I mixed the lines but I don't think I have.

Wow, this is a head scratcher! Have you checked everything with a different meter? That really doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Ususally the first 5 gallons or so are bad, but you said you purged it for hours...Even if the water only flowed through the DI resin, it should be lower than 115. Sorry, hopefully someone else can help you.

I have a feeling I got another defected unit It really makes no sense to me what so ever. I purged it again today for another few hours and still a very steady stream comes out and a reading of 115ppm. The TDS meter I'm using is brand new. I just got it 2 days ago from air water and ice, it said it came calibrated.

I sent them an email this morning asking them if they could help me, I'm sure no one is around on a sunday but they probably will get back to me tomorrow.

Your saying the water is streaming out of the "product" water line????? First thing I would check is to make sure the membrane is properly seated in the pressure vessel housing......If the membrane isn't seated properly it will or could possibly do this and it might explain why your not seeing any real drop in your numbers.....Another thing I would check is that there is a flow restrictor installed......If there is "no" flow restrictor installed water will stream steadily out as well......
