RO/DI Saddle Drain

I just installed a saddle drain from my ro/di unit. I feel the placement i choose was wrong. I did it on the pvc u-pipe but before the U. That is about the only place I could put it. Is this wrong?

Hmm well i read in a couple different places that said to do it after the U. So i went up to HD and got a new u-pipe and redid it. I thought about doing it after the sink part but i didnt want to drill through the metal pipe.

You should have it right above the P Trap...I think you had it right the first time. It can be below the garbage disposal drain.

I couldnt really put it before the trap. The only place i could have put it would put it in the water that settles in the trap. And the rest is metal.

You can drill through the metal.I dont know that having it on the other side is going to hurt .The only purpose for the P trap is to stop deadly gases from flowing into your home.

I wouldnt sweat it.Technically you could just throw the discharge line into the sink or let it drain into a floor drain even out into the yard......I think the main concern is not having any back pressure on the line.

Its in my bathroom upstairs. So that made stuff a little bit more complicated. The fiance didnt want to have the hose out in the open. Sheesh always on my back!! LOL
