Ok I'm going to save up for an RO/DI unit. I was told that the Kent, Seachem, and Typhoon, were the best ones. But out of those 3, what should I get?
Also would you guys mind looking at some RO/DI units on that famous bidding site. Please take a look and tell me what you think of them. There is a bunch I have never heard of but claim to be good, but idk. It would be very appreciated if you look and give you opinion.
I was thinking about these but I think I will go with a name brand, unless these are really good too, so let me know what you think.

also look at air water ice units. all are good just look at the filter exchange rates and optional equipment before making your choice. also look at filter replacement costs.

I use a Kent Maxxima 35 Hi S. Its not the fastest, wasn't the cheapest (paid about 185), but it consistently gives 0TDS which is what I was looking for.
I've heard that the others perform well. I think it has a lot to do with what you prefer. Kind of like cars, the cheap ones get you there just like the high price ones but I like the high price ones!

I would just buy one that are made for drinking water. They are the same and most likely cheaper. Any thing that has to do with a marine tank cost twice as much as it should.

I just got one from Lowes. It works extremely well plus the filter replacements are easy to get.

Mine is called a reef master. I got it for 179.00 on one of those bid sites. My tap water is about 410 ppm and is zero coming out of the ro/di. Its a 5 stage with two di filter(one full size one inline) and put out 100 gpd. It also came with a backflush that you run ever so often.

That's where I'm going to look today. Figure it would be easier to get filters when I need them, instead of having to order them. I just ordered a TDS meter, so I can test it myself to make sure it's coming out at 0. I don't care how fancy it is, just as long as it does the job.

Lowe's, at least our store, also carries the 1/4" John Guest Quick-fit type fittings (Small Ts, elbows, and ball-valves), which is what comes with the AirWaterIce units. Makes hooking these suckers up a breeze.
While there, get a big Brute trashcan to hold the purified water, they may even have a float-valve as well.

Most filters use a standard type/size filter so getting access to filters isn't a biggie - you can buy an online source filter and use the local carbon/sediment filters without a problem.
