RO/DI unit output

So, I'm a little confused. I have and air, water, ice system and I can't remember if it's supposed to be 50 or 75 gpd, but it ACTUALLY does less than 10 I would say. One night I left it on accidentally when I went to bed and it didn't even fill up the 5 gallon bucket I had it emptying into during the 8 hours I slept. I've heard people say that temperature makes a big difference on output. If I'm getting it right, colder water = slower output. I have mine as cold as it will go. Am I right about this and is there an advantage to smaller output from colder water, or is it okay for me to turn it up to warmer water and get a faster output. I know they are slow, but I'm just wondering if mine is too slow. I don't like having to leave the faucet on an entire day to fill up one 5 gallon bucket of water.

...sounds like you are redirecting my call...if no one here can answer my question I'll do that, but I'm willing to give it an hour or 2 first. There's a wealth of informed people on this site and many of them have RO/DI units themselves I'm willing to bet at least one of them has a simple response.

simple. rodi units are meauserd at there peak gpd. the best way to increese your gpd is get the temp of your incoming water around 75 degrees and your psi at 65 pluss you need your water turend all the way on. I bought a Y from the garden center in home depot and have both the hot and cold water from my washing machine feeding the unit. Id get a gauge and increese your water temp. itll make a HUGE diference. what is your tds
