ro/di units

Here's a dumb question, I'm planning on purchasing a Kent Marine ro/di unit. How do you hook it up? I know some ro units have holding tanks, and I assume these don't.
Some help please!

I don't have an RO unit(I purchase RO from the lfs), but I do know that they mount under the sink. When you wish to use the unit, I think there is an on/off valve. Not 100% sure. But you are correct, no holding tanks. An RO unit will be worth it. I'd like to purchase one eventually(when I get a larger tank). This probably didn't answer your question at all but I hope it helps. --Bob

well the best way to do it is to connect it to your house plumbing, but if you arnt expierenced in that area, the best way is to connect it to a hose or get a faucet adapter, usually whereever you get the ro unit from carrys faucet adapters, that is the easyist way.

Hi sunnyspony
I bought a Kent unit a month or so back.
Mine came with a hose adaptor for a regular garden hose, which didn't help me much.
You can install it a few different ways.
1) Order the saddle valve, small brass wet tap valve like you use on an ice maker behind your fridge. This is for a permanent installation.
2) Kent offers a faucet fitting that you can screw onto a standard kitchen or bathroom sink, first have to remove the screen and end fitting you have on them now. You can still use the faucet, and just hook up the RO unit to the barbed fitting sticking out the side when you want to make RO water. This is more of a temporary installation.
3) The garden hose adaptor is still an option too.
I got a 12 gallon plastic container to keep water RO water in. I run the unit on one of my days off, fill'er up and it lasts me a week with 4 tanks to top off.
Hope this helps out !
