now that i have started using water from my lfs. my question is getting water from them is hit or miss, they told me to leave my buckets & pick up later. no problem with that but how long can i leave the water in my plastic trash can before using it.

I usually try to use it within a week or so but that's just me.

If you throw in a maxi jet pump you can go for more than a week safely.

Not sure what size tank(s) you are running, but they sell some good RO/Di units at good prices out there. Then you never have to worry and can keep your water constant.
