RO filter question?

I just installed my first ro system. It is a coralife 50gpd 4 stage unit. I just wanted to make sure it is working right. It is suppost to be just spitting water out of the reject and ro tubes right? It is not a steady smooth flow. With 50 gpd, that is only a little over 2 gallons per hour so this seemed right to me.

Sounds like it is purging out the air in the system

Yeah I got a nice flow now (very slow) but steady flow. I checked the discharge rate and I am getting approx 3 to 1 like the package says it should do. I am still waiting on my TDS meter but in the mean time I am making RO/Di water! Threw away the first 10 gallons and got 10 more gallons so far. Hopefully once I get my meter and test these will be good!

sounds like the same unit i bought recently. does the membrane sound like its pushing a lot of extra air?
