RO Filter

Thinking of buying a RO water filter system. I have a 65 gal tank. Looks like a 24gpd system would be fine. Anybody know if these are difficult to install. What type of salt do I add? I couldn't find it on this site?

There might be some confusion here on what the unit is for. You don't add salt to it. It filters your tap water into being safe water for saltwater fish. They are really easy to install under your sink if you have just simple plumbing skills and simple tools. You can get the supplies at the H Depot. You basically use a splitter from your cold water supply and use the same connector that you would use for your refrigerator ice maker.
Go with RO/DI if you are going to shell out money for a unit. Definetely worth it though. Your fish will live for much longer and not have toxic build-ups in their bodies.

Thanks for your post. I currently buy my salt and fresh water from local fish store. 6 dollars for 5 gal of salt and 3 dollars for 5 gal of fresh. Trying to save a couple bucks. I thought that you would have to add the salt to get salinity to 1.025? Is this simple reef buffer? I currently add reef buffer to my fresh water but not to the salt water. Not sure what the DI is? Is the Coralife pure flo II not a good system?

Once you make you water from your RO then you would add the salt to the water in the container its in. Many different brands out there and you will get mixed reviews on the salt. I have used Instant Ocean which was good but then started using Oceanic. I have been pretty confortable with Oceanic and havent changed since.
