Ro Or Rodi Unit

The DI will remove everything that the RO misses.
An RO will remove let's say 95-98% of the TDS. The DI removes the rest.
RO's output can be around 10-25 (depending on initial water).
The DI output is 0

The RO portion will only remove a portion of all contaminents in a given water supply..this is accomplished through water being forced through a thin membrane filter...
The DI either stand alone, or portion removes all negative and possitive ions from the water. This is done through absorbtion...their are primarily 2 (that I know of for standard home use) types of resins...anion and cation...one does the positive ions and the other negative.
The DI works pretty similar to a water softner for a home, instead of charged rods...it uses the resins.

Anion and Cation are just a description of the charge they have and therefore represent the inverse of what they attract. They are the only 2 available de-'ion'izing medias.
Anion - negative charge, attracts positive ions
Cation - positive charge, attracts negative ions
