RO or RODI

Hello all. I am ready to purchase a RO unit but have some questions.
I plan on using this unti for both my consumption and for my fish. I have heard many different sides to wheather or not DI water can be consumed by humans. I would like to hear your opinion. Can we drink ro/di water or should it only be used for aquarium use.
Thanks

RO/DI would be far better for use in your tank. And if I'm not mistaken RO/DI can be consumed by people unless you suffer from kidney problems. It will however taste different not having the natural salts found in water.

DI is safe, however most DI filters will only do about 400 gallons, so it is a waste to use on drinking water. I wrote a paper about water filtration in college and that was the consensus of several different filter manufacturers.

I haven't bought anything there, but their site has some good info. I e-mailed them and asked for a system that would give me water for SW tanks, an icemaker, and a spout at the kitchen sink. With shipping it was $228.00. Again, I can't attest to their quality yet.
