RO question

if i mount my ro unit by the ceiling in my basement.. directly under the tank is it able to pump the water up to my ro buckets. it would be approx 4 ft... thanks

there is usually no pump in an r/o unit. the pressure which pushes water through is only the pressure of your tap water, how high you turn your faucet on...so it depends on your water pressure. you could just try it out and see.

You may need to alter the restrictor. Gather both the waste and the product water in a bucket and see if the added height creates too much waste.

The added backpressure from the bucket being higher than the RO unit will significanlty make it less effective. If you install the booster pump, it may help but i dont recommend it. I think you will have to replace the filters way more than most people with the setup. Id say do it the traditional way and get a pump to pump water up to the next level up.
