RO too fast

RO system (with sediment and carbon prefilters) is rated for 24 GPD and actually operated at that rate for a half a year or so, with a waste rate around 70-80%, but recently started producing 2-3 times as much at about half the waste rate. Pre-filters changed. Filters and membranes are properly seated. It's still producing 50-75 GPD at 50-60% waste rate.
What gives?

Two things to consider could be:
Ruptured membrane.
Line pressure that is greater then 80psi.
What is the TDS of production water? Is it an RO/DI or just a RO?

Warmer water means water flows quicker as well. During the colder months you will notice it will slow down as the water in the pipes are colder. ITS HOT OUTSIDE. I wish I was in the tank with my fishes. If you TDS are in check it might just be that. If its off it could be a ruptured membrane but they usually last around 3 yrs and I think you memtioned it was less than a year old.

"TDS"?
Just RO. No DI.
Line pressure under 80 PSI. In fact I even just barely opened the faucet for the express purpose of reducing the pressure. It's fed by a garden hose attached to an outside faucet.

If you have high chlorine levels and the carbon filter is old or not pulling out sufficient levels, this is one of the items that destroys the RO membrane.
Been there, done that...
