i have a kent marine RO unit that a buddy of mine gave me. he thinks its only a 25 or 50 gpd unit.
what do i need to do to increase the gpd output? i figure i would need a new membrane, but is there a
regulator i would need to change as well? would increasing the gpd output, that would essentially mean that
i would be wasting less water, eh?

increasing the gpd your going to waste the same amount of water you'll just be doing it faster. to waste less water you'd want to have your water temperature and pressure at optimum for the unit to maximize the filtration rate.

essentially, the membrane is what limits the production of water per day. colder or lower pressure in the feed water can also slow it down. how big a tank will this unit be supplying?

On the Kent to increase water production you will need to replace the membrane, and the flow restrictor will have to be changed as well for it to function properly.....If my memory serves me correctly if you disconnect the wast line from the unit, look inside the wast line, and the flow restrictor should be there......

it's for a 125 gallon tank. i'm starting to realize that it's counter-productive to put all this money into a system, and good salt, if i'm using tap water. i was thinking about a kati/ani unit as well.
