Ro Unit?

I'm going to invest in an RO unit very soon. I dont want to spend more than 150 bucks. And I don't need something with a very high GPD rating either, because i've only got a 38 g tank. What is the best unit I can get for that price? Right now im checkin out the corallife one and it seems okay. Figure i can get one for about 130 off the big auction site.

You can get a D.I. Filter for $50.00 at a local fish dealer like Pet Co. or some Pets Marts D.I. stands for Deionized water filter it is better than R.O. buy far there is not a water filter better than the D.I. D.I. water filters remove everything from the water where R.O. leaves bad stuff behind in the water... Ive binn useing D.I. for 5 years now in my REEF tank its great it lessans maintanance a lot...GOOD LUCK!!!

Not sure where you got that information from, but it is completely FALSE! Just a DI filter is in no way better than an RO filter. The best you can get is an RODI unit that combines both Reverse Osmosis and Deionization. Just a DI filter on it's own will not remove anywhere near as much impurities as an RO or an RODI.
Now, for the originaly poster, I got a Coralife 50gpd RODI about 2 months ago and it works great. It is a 4 stage model and I got it at my LFS for $149. You should also invest in a TDS meter (about $25 off the auction site) This will tell you if your filters are actually working by measuring the Total Disolved Solids in your water.

I found what looks like a good deal, about a hundred bucks on the acution site, its called:
"New Reef 6st 100GPD Reverse Osmosis RO+DI Water Filters"
Sounds familiar to anyone? Any good? Yes, no?

I did a search on google on that thing and didnt really find anything.
I did a search on airwaterice ro/di and got a ton of people basically saying get it, also checked reefcentral and here.
I got it about 2 days ago and the thing has been making 0 tds from the moment i turned it on.
Only problem i had was the output elbow on the di filter was leaking, so i put a dab of aquarium silicon on the treads and its fine now.
I purchased the typhoon model and just went to home depot and picked up 2 t's and 2 shutoff valves and just hooked up my own di bypass, thats for drinking water part.
One thing, i already had a pressure gauge and tds so i just got the typhoon, if you dont already have those get the typhoon 3.
