I would like to try one of these but don't know a whole lot about them, it would be going in my 33 gallon under 10k 150 Halide, tanks been up three years or so now but have never tried any anemone except for aiptasia

Just looking for anyone with experience, advice, pics, etc. Also I have a maroon clown and I'm a little worried she may kill it, she doesn't try to host any of the corals though.

I have a rock anemone. they are pretty cool and dont seem to move around as much as other anemones so you dont have to worry about it getting into trouble.
That lighting should be fine. Mine is under compact flourescents but rocks anemones are among the hardier species that can live in a variety of conditions.
My clownfish wont even touch the rock anemone. I guess it just doesnt appeal to them. I think that as far as hosting anemones go, there is a good chance the clown wont even bother it.
If you are looking for a hardy, easy to care for anemone, I would say the rock anemone is perfect. Id show a picture but mine is closed for the night. hope this helps,
Mike15.

Thanks, I had heard they aren't real movers, it will be going in my 33 gallon so I don't want a huge nem although I'm upgrading within the next six months, I just like the look of these and they seem to not have the high percentage of failure of most anemones

A rock was actually the first anemone I tried. No problems at all and he has about doubled in size. Moved about 2 inches from the original spot I placed him and hasn't moved since. I also have a maroon clown that hasn't paid any attention to him at all. Great eaters too and easy to care for!

I have only had one migration problem from mine it blazed through a patch of zoas killing them, but one bad move in over four years isnt a bad ratio as far as anemone go. especially considering I have moved his chosen rock better than 30 times in those years. unfortunatly clowns absolutly wont host them.
they come in some great color forms though the usual is brownish tan, you can find pink/white, neon yellow/tan, tan/brown, orange/yellow/tan, possibly more but these are the only ones I have seen. I believe the orange/yellow/tan is hideously rare. I have only seen one.

I just picked up a Rock Anemone and found this site in looking up more info. Read the thread, thought I'd add a pic of mine. He/It(?)'s green, white, and pink-ish.
(sorry, a little blurred)
