I have what I think is a rock fish. What I would like to know is there anyway to put another scorpion fish in with this fish. He is the only fish in a 90 gallon aquarium. I don't know if they will fight.

O yeah. First u need to find a pic adn the scientific name of this fish because i think u may have a stonefish (which is very bad they can kill u). How big is he right now? there are lots of scorps u could do but a lionfish would be easiest to find. and yes they are members of the family scorpinidae just like regular scorpionfish. I cant really suggest one until i find out which scorpionfish u have.
Also scorpionfish get along with any members of their scientific family

I agree with fishy411, you probably don't have a rockfish. Most rockfishes are coldwater species that wouldn't live long in a tropical marine aquarium without a chiller. I use to live in CA as a teenager and was a deckhand in So. California and we would catch various rockfish during the winter and most of those were from 300+ feet. There are some shallow water species as well but they are also cold water species (50-60 degrees and colder). Probably a scorpionfish!

I looked on the internet because I also thought it might be a devil fish. It says that a stone fish has a mouth that looks like an upside down u and a devil fish is the opposite well this fish has a upside down u for a mouth. He also burys himself in the sand till the only thing you can see are his eyes and fin. He is eating frozen foods like silversides. Somebody told me if they can fit it into their mouth they will eat it, but then I also heard they will not eat each other as long as it is another scorpion fish. I am hoping somebody can tell me which it is. I would like to get more scorpion fish for this tank. At this shop they had a white scorpion fish maybe a little smaller than he is I wanted to get but not if this one will eat it.
Thanks Mollie
