Rock Replacement

My LFS recently has huge pieces of dried coral for sale and I found a gorgeous that I decided I wanted to put in my tank. I have some live rock and a large piece that was dry rock, when I set up the tank. My question is, if I I leave most of the live rock, does the new “coral” rock need to be cultured? Or can I just swap and put it straight in?

I’d soak it in DI water dor a few weeks. It can have a lot of crap in it that won’t be good for your tank.
