ive been trying to aquascape and its been kinda fighting me. ive seen people zip tie and glue but im wanting to know if anyones ever drilled and and used acyrlic rods i think that would be the best way to make it real, let me know your thoughts..

Hi

When I first started to aquascape i too wanted to use acrylic rods. When I went to look for acrylic rods I couldn't find any so I opted for zip ties. I wasn't really keen in using them, but just had to try. I ended up loving it! Its super easy! Most of my LR had holes so my fiance did minimal drilling. The zip ties will cover up with coralline algae in no time.
Heres a pic. taken not long after it was all put together. It's stable and I can go to sleep at night and know for sure my rockwork isn't going to fall.

Hope this helped!

Nice!. I believe you can get acrylic rods pretty much at most hobby shops.

Yep, if you can find acrylic rods you can use them to put your rock together I have seen some awesome aquascapes with acrylic rods used to hold up shelves and penisulas that just span out into the tank with nothing under them.

you can use acrylic rods. some people mentioned to me that they have used plastic clothes hangers by cutting out the long pieces. others told me to go to lowe's and buy some fiberglass rods
