Rock???

I'm upgrading to a 125gal tank and I dont want to buy all live rock for it.
Is there another rock that I can buy for base rock then put live rock ontop of it?

You can make PVC tables (real easy) place them on the bottom of your tank have the height of the tables just under your substraight and place your rock LR on top

Or check with you LFA to see if they have Tufa rock or any other types of base rock. Can usually get it for a couple bucks per lb. Place it first with your live rock on top. In several months you won't even be able to tell the difference. Try to get rock that is light weight and porous.

If its a money issue, and you live near a metropolitan area, try that popular classified ad website. You can often find people getting out of the hobby selling their live rock for far less than retail.
