Rookie that used greenex help!

Hello all, Daily viewer first time poster so forgive me if any errors.
Tank has been running 1.5 months. My problem just like alot of people in the disease thread is Ich. 2 damsels are not happy at all. The one will proably not make it through the next couple of days. So after I was told about this great stuff greenex I am now skimmer and running carbon due to your help.
My question is if the damsels do croak before my quarentine takes get set up will the ich still live because of the gobie?? Can I just wait the 21 days before trying more damsels? The hypo seems to be the most logical way to go. But I dont want my cool little snails and crabs to die. Believe it or not ***** first told me about it. She said all the chemicals they carry are crap and she would not buy anything for reef there.
Also I am not happy my fluval filters are green now. Is this OK or should I try to bleach them and dry completely before us? Just minor amount of bleach.
I eventually want to go reef so copper in my main tank is not feasible. What do you folks think? Am I headed down the right track with the ich. Should I just wait before adding more damsels?
Oh and only 20lbs of live rock so far. Looks like some of my live rock fund is going to a 10 gal tank.
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Welcome to the board...
I would say, take out your gobie and put him in Quarenteen too..
Then leave your main tank fishless.. It seems that it needs to finish cycling anyway! Inverts dont carry ICH...
I used greenix once.. It does turned everyting in my tanks blue/green too.. The silicone and stuff.. It will go away. So dont bleach everything...
I have learned the hard way, like most of us do..... Qt all your new arrivals and dont rush.. AS HArd AS that is!! we all know!
gOOD LUCK, SORRY TO RUSH THIS POST. But I have to go to work.. will check back later..
Thanking you kindly, Kim

Monday- 1 damsel died last night. Seconds damsel is starting to look a little better, but still has spots. Going to buy the second tank today with my daughter.
Does anyone else feel that the gobie can stay in the main tank?
thanks

the problem in leveing a fish in the tank is ich needs a host to finish the cycle so if a fish is in the main tank you will not rid the tank of ich

Thanks for all your insight. It's funny how many people you speak to who have different ideas on Ich. Even this BB has conflicting info. My neighbors swears by greenex. He said just do one more 3 day treatment. I think that is why this hobby gets sooo frustrating at times for me. I look at his 80 gallon and its amazing! Oh well, in the mean time I'm setting up my QT while his tank flourishes.
Sorry, just venting and looking for further support. hahahhaha
