I have a rose leather that has been to quite well, and has been in my tank for around 5 weeks now. Unfortunately, I purchased an eclipse system, so I was only able to upgrade lighting to one 15 watt 20,000 K, and one 15 watt actinic 03.
I decided to try lining light housing with foil to redirect as much lighting as possible back into my tank. That night I noticed that my leather had purple spots. These purple spots went away but seem to be recurring under these conditions.
Water parameters: salinity 1.024 - 1.025
pH 8.3
temp 78
ammonia 0
nitrite .1
nitrate 0
Am I hurting my rose leather?
