Router Problems

Hey guys,
Thought maybe you guys could help me out here....I just got a Linksys wireless router (WRT54GX with SRX200). I have 2 computers, one is wireless the other is wired. I use my wired PC for gaming. After I installed the router and I connected to TEamspeak and COD2 my pings were great (36) on average, however, my gameplay is choppy, I am skipping around the maps and my teamspeak is skipping too. When I disconnect the router the problem goes away. Are there any settings in the router I can tweak to make this problem go away?
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks - Johnny

Did you try searching threw the Router command promt?? Does the chopyness happen when someone else is one the wireless?? Or all the time? What wireless signal are you on?

If I'm reading this correctly, your gaming PC is hard wired to the router when the router and the router is sending a wireless signal to another PC. You say that without the router, the gaming PC has a faster connection, right? I assume that with no router, the other PC has no internet connection. If that is the case, I'd say you might need more bandwidth to have 2 PC's connected to the net and get the speed you need.
I had this problem as well and badwidth was the cause.

Well of course bandwith could allways be a cause.... But then again who wants to pay for more

no guys sorry, it has nothing to do with my bandwidth, I know that for a fact. My pings are good, the problem is I am losing packets somehow...and there has to be a way to tweak the router to fix this problem.

I'm not sure about this but have you checked for any updates for your router. We were having issues with our d-link wireless and there was a simple patch that we had to download and problem was fixed.

Just do a google search on packet loss for your router.
Also, do some more tests my hardwiring the second PC to the router and also use the router for the gaming PC, but don't allow the 2nd PC to the router (wireless or not).

Is the game choppy without TS on? You might need to find the ports that TS is using and then go to the port forwarding page of your routers setup and add them there. Also IF you are using windows XP, turn OFF windows firewall!!
