I got a new fish on Saturday and it has little white spots on its fins body and maybe even one in its eye. The pictures are hard to see. I have been watching them for a few days and I think there are less now than when I noticed them. What do you recommend doing

Oh no your fish has the ick you have to quarantine him and all your fish. The ick is a small parasite that only will go on fish and after its dormant stage it looks like white spots and its going to get worse and if it reaches or spreads to much into the eyes or gills they will die you have to take all your fish out and medicate them in a quarantine and the ick that's left in the tank will die off with ought a host

Is there a medication you recommend I try using

Hi,

PM Beth to find out how to do hypo...you need to remove all fish from the display for 8 weeks for the parasite to die off without a host. All of the fish needs to be treated, no matter if you see signs or not. You can also use copper...but never in the display.

Here is the procedure for hyposalinity:

Is your system a strictly fish-only set up? Or do you have live rock, inverts?
