royal gramma okay?

I just got my order this morning and I'm trying to acclimate my royal gramma but he is not cooperating very much. I floated the bag for about a half hour and then but it in the bucket to drip acclimate. It's the only fish I ordered so there wasn't much water in the bucket. I had to tilt it to keep him submerged but he kept trying to swim in circles around the outside of the bucket, really going crazy. I had to keep moving the bucket to keep water on him. I had to speed up the drip quite a bit until there was enough water to cover him all around. Has anyone else ever experienced this kind of acclimation behavior? What was the turn out?

i've had lots of fish do that they just want more water they usually end up ok just let them do it they'll stop eventually if you turn the water too much you could stress him out a bit thats not good, he'll be ok, he's just a bit earger to get in display tank.

I didn't have anything smaller that I trusted. I've always used this same bucket for fish and I've never had a fish do what he did this morning. I literally couldn't keep him covered in the water. I ended up leaving him in the bucket for about 2 hours and he really didn't look good, but I decided I've put him in the DT so he could hide and hopefully that would calm him down. He went into a rock and I just kept an eye on him and kept the lights down and stayed away. He's out now and ate so I'm hoping it was just stress and he's doing better now. I guess we'll see in a couple days.
