Running Carbon - yes or no

I run carbon in my Magnum 350 around 2-3 days a week.
This is in addition to my Wet/Dry 125, and my skimmer.
It buffs the water up nicely.
Just make sure you change the carbon on a bi-weekly basis.

I run carbon 24/7 .... it cleans and polishes the water nicely, and I change it every week or two. :D

Thank you, I ran carbon for about a month and by the end, the water looked great.
I removed the carbon (but did not replace it) after the 3rd week.
After a day or two the water started to look not quite as clear (polished).
I wondered if it was the carbon, so now I will probobly run it with carbon again.
I have an Rena XP3 and a Fluval 404. It is recommened to change carbon at least once a month.
So is ever two weeks better?
Thanks again for the responce.

carbon can, as it gets "older" give off some Phosphates, etc. If you are planning on running it 24/7, then I personnaly would change it out every 2 weeks. but that depends on your bioload. If you have alot of fish and corals, and feed daily, then defiantly change it bi-weekly.
