we are trying to do a hospital tank we are using 20gl tank. I need to know how long of a process do we use to to a hyposalinity change??? hopefully all at once!!!!!!!!!!!! Also what are considered fish? we have blennies, and gobies and spotted hawk fish and scallops. Do we do hypo on these too????????????????????????? I cant answer all your questions, but as for lowering the salt level, it should be done slowly. Preferably over a 48 or 72 hour time period. Lower the salt level by taking out probablly about a half gallon or gallon of salt water at a time and replace it with fresh water.

I know you are facing a fish crisis, but calm down a bit. You're success with saving your fish will be enhanced if you keep it cool, and do it right. First, may I ask what makes you think you have ick? How long has the problem been going on? Fish do not usually die so fast with ick, so if you can give some more info, we might be able to guide you better.
To reduced the specific gravity [salinity] for hyposalinity treatment, this must be done gradually over a 48 hour period. Additionally, all of the animals you mentioned, except the scallop, can be treated.
