Do you have a sump attached to the 35? Or any macroalgae/plants? The combination of carbon and some macro in your tank should get the levels back down to normal. It's good that it's out, but I won't stress too much.
no sump! It was only in there about a week before I found it!! I am also running some sort of pad that claims to get iron and other things out of the water!!
Rust is not actually that bad for your tank. Think of all the ships the sink and corals grow like crazy rust and all. Run some carbon, do a water change and you will be a ok

I wouldn't say that. The ocean has the advantage of millions and billions of gallons of water in which to dilute any pollution that comes off of those ships. We don't have that luxury.
Oh, and +1 to carbon and macroalgae.
Thanks!
I thought the same thing a ship in the ocean is a little different than a razor blade in a 35 Gal tank!!
I ran carbon last night and everything looks fine!!
I use stainless steel clamps on my hoses in the refugium and in my overflows. They do rust a bit, but not much. I have never found any problems with this.
It isn't going to hurt your tank. Think Phosphate media, in particular the brown stuff... It's Ferric Oxide AKA Rust... just think you may be pulling out some phosphates with the blade
