Rye and other Bak Pak owners

I have recently had a conversation with an employee at on online retail store regarding the upgrade to a maxi jet. As it turns out, the MJ fits perfectly onto the skimmer without any modification. The only drawback is that any of CPR's optional upgrades that include a preskimmer no longer will fit due to the increased size of the maxi over the RIO. However, if there is sufficient interest the retailer would look into building custom preskimmers. I for one am intersted, and if anyone else is, please let me know!

Would the MaxiJet improve skimming, or is it a matter of reliability?
I just got my year-old BakPak with a Rio running satisfactorily again. Turns out I had salt buildup in the air intake muffler. I had been running with just an open hose and it was super noisy but worked OK. I've never been thrilled with my BakPak, but I don't have anything to compare against.
I'm getting ready to move my skimmer from the back of the tank to a sump, so I won't need the preskimmer box any more. If the MaxiJet improves quality and/or decreases noise, I'll probably give it a try

I have been told that it DRAMATICALLY improves efficiancy. Because there is a higer flow rate, and more bubbles. But i am yet to try it. I am fed up with the RIO as well.
