Hey Rye, I was wondering what you knew about copyrighting pictures, either digitally or prints. Is there some sort of stamp that you put on the back of prints, and if so, what is the best way to get one. Digitally.... how do you put your mark on your photos?
TIA
Doug

Hey Doug,
As far as copyrighting standard photos goes.......you might be able to find a stamping device somewhere on the internet. Maybe www.bhphoto.com would have somthing like that. It's a lot easier with digital because you can simply copyright it yourself by typing ALT + 0169
ALT + 0169 = ©
and then all you have to do is put your name in front of the copyright. You want to make sure that you get something that is archival or photo safe if you are stamping pictures.

I'm obviously too dense to figure this out. Where are you typing the Alt + 0169 at. Can you do it on regular Microsoft programming (I'm at work) or do you need photo shop or something like that??????

Holding Alt and typing 0169 should create a © anywhere.
Hold Alt, type in 0169, release Alt. = ©

My photos are stored in my pictures under my documents in my computer. When I open the picture its under microsoft photo editor. I can't find a place to freetext or to add text (the ©). I saved it over to word which I can edit it in fine, but when I tried to post it on here, this program said it wouldn't take a file that wasn't in jpeg... format. I know I'm missing something really simple, but haven't caught on yet.

Yes, you will have to save the image as a jpeg.
I don't think that Microsoft word is going to help you with anything. Do you have any version of Adobe Photoshop or Photo Deluxe?

I've got photoshop deluxe at home. Not here at work. I'll just have to do my files there, then bring them in to post. (no e-mail at home). I haven't been able to figure out a way to do it with microsoft. Typically worthless. I've got some wildlife photos that I was going to post. I'm about to sell them, so wanted to have them labelled so that they wouldn't get poached. Thanks for your patience.
