I bought a Fuji 3800 to play with digital and have fell in love with the format. I have a lot of Nikon equipment. What is your thought on the D100 which I know you use and the Fuji S2. I need to tell my wife wich one to geet me for Xmas.
Thanks

Hi there Niger12-
I would personally recommend that you stick with the Nikon name brand in this case. The Fuji S2 is more money and it has a horrible battery format and wierd controls. The Fuji S2 is also known to not be nearly as reliable as the Nikon D100. I shot with a Fuji S2 for about 2 weeks and I needed to change batteries three times.........my Nikon D100 will last 2-4 weeks without having to charge batteries. The Fuji doesn't have rechargeable batteries.
I am completely satisfied with my D100.
I would check out www.dpreview.com for some really good info and user reviews on each camera.
Good luck and let your wife know that I am in need of some nice Christmas gifts as well.;)

Coolpix 2100 is a nice little camera but, for the same price I would look at something Fuji puts out. Fuji will usually offer a much better product in that price range......just more camera for the money. :)

Rye, thanks for the input. I went to the wesite and now I am more undecided than before. Everybody seems to say if color and pic quality is most important go S2. The Nikon for durability and quality. I think I need to do more research:confused:

That's ok, atleast the thread would let you look at stuff. It wouldn't let me look up cameras by manufacturer.

Hey, I don't know if this helps but I agree with Rye, I played with all the camera brands and decided on a Fuji FinePix 3800. This camera would be a great first digi or upgrade for older Cam. They dropped the price to $349 because they release a new model with a few more features.
