i bought one 2 inches sabe clown and one about an inch sabe clown, how will i know they are pairing up or not?

I would give them some time. It is good that one is significantly larger then the other. The larger one will be the female, and the smaller, the male. They will get along, fine, most likely and it's pretty rare that clowns don't get along, if there in the same species and different sizes.
