Sad day here :o(

Sadly we are about to loose our male seahorse. I woke up today to him on the bottom of my tank and my female holding him
that was the sadest part of all to see! I have no QT tank yet so I can't take him out and he is slowly dying. He is weak, wouldn't touch food today at the feeding and his head is turning yellow in a few places that he had black pigment as he was solid black since purchase
Last night he was fine swimming around with her and everything! I don't know what to do but it breaks my heart to know she is about to loose her mate and I can't do anything to help or even afford to get her another friend right now. Like I said the worst scene of it all is when I see her sitting there holding him, that breaks my heart
I wish by some chance something could happen and he would pull out of it.

Well I just checked on him and he is still hanging in there poor little man. I hate seeing him suffer and not be able to do anything. He has white stuff hanging out of his puch area now and the area on his head that was loosing color is getting larger. I have looked online for illness and have had no luck tracking down what it could be. I just wish I could do something for him to ease what pain he is in.

Oh I am so sorry Shauna

I know it's the worst when there is nothing you think you can do.I hope he can pull through some how though.

Oh no - that is so sad - I'm hoping you will update soon but I also know it's going to hurt anyone who reads it - I'm so sorry. I am here reading constantly since I am hoping to set up a horse tank in the next few months and now I wonder if I can handle the emotional attachment I will feel with them. I rescue animals and you would think I would get used to losing some but the hurt never lessens - whether it's a dog or a squirrel or a fish.
So sorry, for you and for the horses. :(

Thanks everyone for the condolences. We sadly lost him this evening around 8:00. I checked on him while waiting for dinner to finish and found he had passed
It was a sad find but I am glad he is no longer in pain. Thankfully my other horse has my watchmen gobie to keep her company but it won't be the same without the other horse!

I'm so sorry you lost your male.
That is so endearing how she held onto her mate. Hang in there
