I have heard of people feeding there anemones like 2-3 times a week.
and I have also heard that people don't feed them.
should I be feeding mine and what can I feed him.

Yes, you should feed them. Carpet anemones will aslo eat any of your fish that get caught in their tentacles (except host clownfish). They pack one heck of a sting, and get very large, and are not recommended for reef tanks....don't know what you have, or if you know this. Sorry if you already do.
They will take just about anything meaty. Small fish, called silversides, are available frozen. Be sure to fully thaw any frozen food. Krill, Squid, clam....I would suspect just about anything meaty would work. Just get it on the tentacles. As far as how often, well, every anemone is different. This will just take some experimentation, until you figure out how much your anemone will eat. Try a couple of times a week to start....an anemone will not eat if it is not hungry. Do not force it, and remove uneaten food.
Also keep in mind that proper lighting is required for all anemones as well.
