fish will do fine, but as sammy said, you can bring it down slowly(over days, or weeks), my new tank is at 1.025 and has been since i set it up in october(well it started at 1.022 for a couple of weeks until i brought it up)

When i first set up my tank... i kept a salinity of 1.022, and the temp was at 77, i read an article about how the ocean is usually at higher temps, and salinities. So i decided to try it out on my tank, i raised the temp to 81 and the salinity to 1.026 and ive noticed that the fish have more of an appitite and they also became more active... thats just what ive seen personally about this issue

My SG was at 1.026 at first and I reduced it to 1.023. I added 1/2 gallon of fresh water a day until I hit 1.023. Like the guys before me said, do it slowly and it will not cause a problem. If nothing else, being a saltwater enthusiast has taught me one thing..PATIENCE ;)

Just a note on SG and temp. 1.025 at a benchmark for natural ocean SG is at temp 60 F. I belive and read somewhere that as the temp rises - SG falls. So at temps of 78 - 80 F the SG should be about 1.022 to match the natural ocean.
