Salinity level/ specific gravity

the dude at the LFS said the salinity for my living reef should be 1.025. It kinda sounded like he had no clue what he was talkin about byut since a lot of you are experienced i figured one of you could help me out.

he's right. 1.025 is good for inverts and corals and helps maintain higher trace element concentrations. inverts dont like SG's of 1.021 its really hard on them. potentially fatal.
I actually run my reef at 1.027 to keep every thing as high as possible. THis is risky for new people because its easier to go too high with your SG if you forget to top off.
