salinity

i have a 14 gallon nano tank and i cant seem to get the salinity to were it should be, it continues to stay at 1.022 even wen i add salt it doesnt increase, any suggestions on how to increase this number?

Mix up some water at 1.025. As evaporation occurs top off the tank with this water. It will bring the Sg up slowly, which is how you want to address this unless it is a new tank with no critters in it. Then just remove some water and replace it with the mixed water at what Sg you want it to be.

He has no critters, and it still finishing up his cycle(no critters). I thought about just having him mixing up some heavy salinity water and getting it up there quickly for him.
He is still using a plastic hydrometer though, kinda unreliable. I told him to get to a reef store and get it check with a refractometer too.
