I'm kind of confused. I have read on this website that some of you, or all, do not advocate putting sally's in a reef tank. However, the reef relief packages that SWF sells come with this crab. Please explain.
this same question has been asked many times and never answered. I would also like to know why they are sold with reef packages but not considered reef safe as I have one and have no problems. Hopefully one of the sharks will step up and explain why they are not reef safe and why they are being sold with reef packages.
Old yeller tang, how big do they get and do they get along with other crabs such as the emerald crab? (I already have one). Would you recommend getting another emerald or a sally? The reason why I am thinking about a sally is because people RAVE about them.
I had a Sally in my reef for a year or so with no problem of it bothering any fish or other crabs. Unfortunatly I did notice it starting to pick at and remove a good portion of the coralline on by back glass, and some new much sought after coralline growth on live rock - so I returned it to lfs.
Bummer - It was indeed a cool crab to watch
Well, I have to agree with ole' yeller and goofie about them being ok.I have heard that they are better when introduced at a smaller size.Rather than buying a big one.
Emeralds are graet to.I personally love the little guys and have 4 of them in my reef. But they to can be destructive when introduced at a ;asrge size. But it all boils down to the crab!!!Either one is hard worker and is a great addition to any reef.
