they can also move quick out of water and live for considerable amount of time. I was moving rock around from my tank to my sump, I took out a pretty large piece not knowing the SLF was attached to the bottom. He jumped off the rock to the floor then went lighting quick under the bed. It took about an hour to get him back into the tank  . he didn't seem bothered by all of that acted like nothing happened :notsure: .

I didn't know that either until I came home from a weekend trip one time and found mine in the corner of the room. It was completely dry and even managed to collect a dust bunny. Who knows how long it was there but it sure looked dead, it didn't move when I picked it up or anything. I figured I should at least try throwing him in the fuge just to double check before I tossed it. Sure enough, as soon as that sucker hit the water he scrambled under a little piece of rumble. It ended up living for a long time after that. I have no idea how long it was there or how long they can live out of the water but I was impressed.

i have one it has been in my tank about 2 1/2 years he/she has gotten big and agressive, and fast. it is eating fish, i saw her catch a coral beauty, the first thing she did is pop out the eyes while the fish was trying to get away, then she ate on the fish for most of the day, the slails finished the fish off, any ideas on how to catch the crab?

it is extremly difficult to catch them. I had one that killed a lot fo my fish I had to corner it and catch it with net. the hard part is to corner it. you have to wait for the perfect moment. let the crab go in any of the corners by itself or through some kind of meaty food in there and then trap it. good luck
