I ordered a invert package from here and I might have a problem...I have not seen my sally lightfoot crab in about a week and I am getting ready to form a search party. I have only had him for a little more than a week so do they hide like this? I have a 75 w/100# of lr so I guess the little guy has enough places to hide, but is it more likely dead? Should a tear my tank apart looking for a possible corpse? Any expirence with these guys? Thanks

He might have molted. They will molt if they are stressed then they hide for about a week so their new shell can harden, most likely he is just hiding, but if he still does not show up in the nest couple days I would look for him.

yea mine used to hide all the time. But not anymore. found him belly up when i came home from work. trying to figure out what is wrong. it might have been that a rock fell on him.

same thing happened to me... Just turned up belly up one day in the front of the tank. No clue why.. pretty creepy actually! . Both of mine were really active, they didn't seem to hide much. always scavenging.

My roomate has one and I've seen it a total of about 3 times since he got it over 6 mos. ago. It's always in hiding. As long as water quality is on par its probably just found a comfortable area out of site.
