I am currently using Instant Ocean and want to change over to Tropic Marin.
heres my question?
i have my fish in a 55 gallon now. i am getting a new 125 for XMAS. can i us RO water with the Tropic Marin to start the new 125. and just acclimate them as usual back to the new DT.
im guessing yes cause of the fact that either you or the LFS will have different salt. good chance.
any replies will be highly welcomed.

That should be fine, just cycle the new 125 completely then you should be able to just transfer everything over slowly.

When I switched from my 55 to 125 this is how I did it:
Set up 125 in new location
started adding newly mixed salt water and new shipped in live rock to cycle it
I also started with 60 lbs. of live sand
My next step after the cycle was:
I vacumned up sand and in doing so, I captured some water from the 55
I added that sand and water to the 125, 1 gallon at a time (there was maybe 3" of live sand in that gallon of water.
I did that over a course of several days adding 1-2 chunks of live rock from the 55.
Soon enough I had all the live rock out and the sand from the 55. I did not see a spike in the 125 doing it this way.
Once most of the live rock was out I added 1-2 fish at a time waited a week or 2 and repeated.
They have been healthy and happy ever since.
I did change from Instant Ocean to Oceanic salt during this process.

from what i read Tropic Marin is the way to go.
hot883 i can not take water from the 55 to put in the 125 cause the fish are in hypo.
should i wait a month to let the tank cycle then start adding the fish slowly.

why dont you just leave the 55 setup as a qt since the hypo and all. start fresh w/the 125
JMO if you have space.
