Ok folks I'am upgrading my tank in doing so, I think I'am going to switch salt. From instant to red sea. My question will my fish be negatively effected going from instant to red?

Hi,

This is only going by what has been posted in the past, so it isn't my own experience I'm going by. I have read that it isn't wise to swap suddenly.

This is what I would do:
Read the two boxes and compare the differences between the two. If they are the same, I wouldn't worry about it. If they are different, then maybe use part old mix for saltwater, and part new, and increase the amount of new with each water change.

Ah very good. There is a difference in trace elements. Its part of the reason for the change. Red has a higher cal, and I believe alk. Now are either important to my fowlr system? Prob not, but the instant doesn't seem to be the cleanest either. Now the red is also twice the cost. Lol
