Just been searching databanks on oceanic salt has the opinion changed on it vs. instant ocean.Don't mean to beat a dead horse, but wondering because my lfs is switching and suggesting to customers to switch.

No doubt your LFS is suggesting people switch only because they are getting a better deal on the other now and they want you to buy it :p

oceanic defintly gave me a huge amount of coraline growth. However the calcium is way to high in the salt mix and I had problems adjusting my cal and alk ratio. Now that I have been using IO I can't seem to get the the cal high enough, but atleast the the cal/alk ratio is even.

honeslty i didnt use it long enough to find out. with all of the money invested in my tank I wanted everything to be stable. either way just monitor your levels and see where your at.

smart. Number one reason people stop useing it. I have heard of people getting good results with useing a 50 50 mix with oceanic and instant

i would defintly use a 50/50 mix rather than using just oceanic.
