Salt?

I use instant ocean frequently. Reef crystals is the second one I use frequently.
Now, when I can find it, (lfs doesn't carry it all the time for some reason) I like to use RedSea Fish Pharm's Salt. That's good stuff. :D

This has to be the most popular poll subject ever. I bet more people have polled or asked the "what salt" question more than any other question on this board.

I use Instant Ocean. Just picked up a 200 gal bucket at my LFS and noticed there are supposed to be "2 SeaGarden plants FREE Inside". Anyone know what this is? I still have some salt left from the last bag, so haven't opened the bucket up yet

420... not the plants you hope for brother. :D
And nothing you would want for a reef either. They are just the cheap little plastic plants you put in FW aquariums. Nice incentive I guess, but pointless to put in a salt bucket.

I kind of wondered what would remain viable in a bucket of salt. I guess plastic makes sense. Something for the Moor tank I guess.

Soooo -- the current opinion is that Tropic Marin is not worth the premium pricing?
Richard, I searched for "Salt" --- (bad search string) it came up with almost everything on this board ;)

I've got a 20 gallon batch of Reef Crystals mixing up as we speak.
Going to give it a try tomorrow morning.
You must like it.

I'm used to use Instant ocean brand. Now i switched to Red Sea. This salt disolves like Instant ocean. I'm not sure about the chemical difference between them, but i think it's pretty much the same.

I use IO, but according to a couple LFS, and Aquarium System Reef Crystals, is the exact same salt as IO (same mfg.) just with more trace elements. I dunno, thats what they told me. I am thinking of trying Reef Crystals.
