Saltcreep on bulb lead to hair algae?

I am trying to track my Hair Algae problem down as many of you may know. All normal hair algae contributers I have ruled out so I am now looking for abnormal ones. Does anyone know if saltcreep could throw the bulbs spectrum out of balance and cause algae blooms?

that is a very good question.and i'm no exspert but i would say yes if they are left dirty for long periods of time.if you think about it, old bulbs can cause algea blooms just as adding new bulbs can.i clean my MH atleast once a week with vingar.salt creep can cause alot light loss.IMHO

My lights lately have become very very dirty after just 3 days cleaning. I was wondering if this could be my culperate. Anyone know for sure?
